Eun Young Lee 
Founder, Pianist

Eun Young is an actively performing pianist both in Korea and the United States who began her musical journey by presenting her successful solo debut recital at the Kumho Art Center in Korea as a Kumho Prodigy. She went on to earn her Bachelor and Master of Music degree from Ewha Women's University in Korea and later received her Performance Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. 

She is a passionate pianist exploring various repertoires, including solo works, chamber music, and concertos; the concerts she performed with orchestras as a soloist include ones with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra at Hill Auditorium, the Oradea State Philharmonic Orchestra, and Ewha Women's University Orchestra. 

Eun Young has won numerous competitions such as the American Protege Competition, Concert Artists International Virtuoso Competition, International Maestro Piano and Strings Competition. As a result of winning these competitions, she has performed in Carnegie Hall in New York three times during the past calendar year (2018-2019).​

Eun Young graduated from the University of Michigan with her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance in 2019.  She currently continues to perform and teach students of all ages in the Michigan area.

Minji Kim 
Pianist

A native of Seoul, South Korea, Minji Kim studied in the Seoul National University where she got her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, ranking first in her Department. During this time, she was awarded many scholarships including a Superior Academic Performance scholarship.

 

She won the first prizes in prestigious competitions as the Chung-Ang University Competition and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Competition. She was a Mentor of the foundation ‘Sarang-Nanum Wecan’, where she taught a student who has an intellectual and developmental disability. Music festivals she attended include CCM Prague International Piano Institute and White Night International Piano Festival in St. Petersburg.

She moved to the United States to get her Master of Music degree in the University of Michigan, where she will continue her study as a DMA in Piano Performance from September 2019. Her teachers have been Hyung-min Lee, Hie Yon Choi, and Christopher Harding.

Jie Ren 
Pianist
 

Jie Ren was born in China and started to study the piano at age four. Currently, she studies at the University of Michigan with Christopher Harding in pursuit doctoral degree in Piano Performance. She also got a dual Master’s degrees in performance and chamber music in the University of Michigan with Professor Harding. She finished her Bachelor’s degree at Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Florida, with Roberta Rust.

 

In 2013, she was a National Finalist in the MTNA-Steinway Young Artist Competition after being declared the winner of the Florida-MTNA Young Artist Competition and winner of the MTNA Southern Division Young Artist Competition. She was the winner of Camerata Concerto competition in 2016, and she performed with Camerata Orchestra.

Hyerim Lee
Pianist

Born in South Korea, pianist Hyerim Lee earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Seoul National University as a full scholarship recipient. 

Hyerim Lee has won numerous competitions, including the second prize at the 6th OSAKA International Competition, the grand prize at the Yeum Classic Music Competition. She also became laureate at the 11th Ettlingen International Competition and was a finalist of the 48th William C. Byrd Concerto Competition in 2019.

 

Hyerim Lee has presented multiple concerts in several well-known concert halls, including Kumho Art Hall, Yamaha Hall, and Mozart Hall in Korea, and has performed with established ensembles including Daegu Philharmonic Orchestra. As a passionate chamber music musician, she has given several concerts for chamber music in numerous places such as Kumho art hall and Kerrytown concert hall, performed for Ann Arbor Camerata Chamber concert. She also participated in the Seoul Contemporary Music Festival twice and was invited to the 8th Korean Young Artists Music Festival as a guest performer. 

 

She is currently pursuing her Master's degree at the University of Michigan with Professor Christopher Harding as a full scholarship recipient.

Nick Thompson
Clarinetist

Nick Thompson is a versatile orchestral and chamber musician based out of the Ann Arbor, MI area. Nick was recently appointed to the position of Principal Clarinet with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and also holds the position of 2nd/Eb Clarinet with the Flint Symphony Orchestra and 2nd Clarinet with the Lima Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed frequently with the Toledo Symphony as well as various other orchestras such as the Ann Arbor Symphony, Canton Symphony, Akron Symphony, Lexington Philharmonic, Savannah Philharmonic, Kalamazoo Symphony, Berkshire Opera Festival Orchestra and many others. Nick is excited to be a founding member of the newly formed Chamber Artists of Southeast Michigan (CASM) - more information about CASM can be found at: http://www.casmmusic.org

 

A native of Great Falls, VA, Nick recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance and also graduated cum laude from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance. He has primarily studied with Chad Burrow, Dan Gilbert, Kathy Mulcahy, and Dr. Rochelle Oedemann, as well as performed in masterclasses for Richie Hawley, Ralph Skiano, Ricardo Morales, Diana Haskell, Eli Eban, Suzanna Dennis Bratton, J Lawrie Bloom, and Loren Kitt. Nick has also attended the AIMS Festival, Chautauqua Institution, Philadelphia International Music Festival and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival.
